We Like It Raw: CreVax & Nathans Naturals steal photos of raw foodist to use in weight loss Ads

  • Shernell · 1 year ago
This is funny /disturbing. These people are complete loosers in every since of the word. How are you going to take pictures of people and not steal their corrrect names as well? ANY way don't worry ladies imitation is the biggest form of flattery. When mainstream has to steal from alternative this means that were on to something, something large and in charge. Ok so im out.

YO Dru did you get my e-mail? I wanna know what you think of Raw Photo holla back

    Sincerely Shernell sherawforever@gmail.com

this is disturbing and outrageous. if you're product doesn't work, try for something better. it's disconcerting to see people succumb to lies.

    Show me the money....!
  • Anthony · 1 year ago
Philip, my man...you are on the right track. MAKE THEM PAY.
  • Moms Raw · 1 year ago
I just called them and emailed them. The operator says she has had several calls tonight and urged me to call back during business hours. This is a New York company in business since 1999. I encouraged her to consider finding a better job with an honest company, and she sounded like she was considering it.
  • Lisa · 1 year ago
I find it even funnier that they have copyright symbols over the photos.
  • Lesley Anne · 1 year ago
LAMEO! There sure are some strange people in this world. I'm shocked that people can be so forward and think no one would notice. Did they think no one would know? Maybe CRAZY!
  • Kevin Gianni · 1 year ago
I'm going to dig around tomorrow and see what I come up with... they say they're a new york company, but the Nathan's Naturals has a Seattle exchange # and their parent "company" is in Cyprus.

There's no mention of the Crevax product on the Nathan's Naturals site, which is weird too... could be a private label or just a 100% complete scam. Don't want to put my CC in to find out though...

Sent off an email to Mike Adams as well to spread the word :-)

    Thanks for posting, Dhru!

sent them an email, alerting them of the no no they are doing.
  • Anthony · 1 year ago
SUE THEM SUE THEM SUE THEM. AND CONTACT THE PRESS NOW. DO NOT LET THIS SLIP. PRINT OUT THE PAGES AND CALL A LAWYER NOW.

These people are liars and they they are tricking gullible consumers looking to help themselves and they are using our raw family to sell their garbage.

Im sorry...there is no room for niceties here. They will likely settle for at least a few hundred thousand maybe. Im serious...take action now...you three could be on the news for this hopefully.

Is rawmodel getting too agressivo? I dont know...
  • Rachel · 1 year ago
I agree! I am not a litigious person, but this is so blatantly illegal (and stupid) that they need to pay. It would also be public gesture for other companies who may be considering doing something similar.

Seriously, in the age of the Internet, how did they think they would get away with this BS???
  • dawn · 1 year ago
I think taking legal action would be very appropriate. What nerve!
  • Charissa · 1 year ago
Oh my goodness! That is so funny, and so dreadful! :) I can't believe they did that!
  • Chris · 1 year ago
There is are a lot of raw foodists in Seattle. If one of them would call the district attorney and the local television stations, then corrective actions will begin to take place.

The individuals who have been defrauded could certainly make claims against the various companies. Their attorneys could guide them in that endeavour.

    May Peace Be With You

    Chris
  • LindaSalas · 1 year ago
Oh the nerve to claim copyright on the pics!! how awful!! and unlawful! WOW
  • Jay · 1 year ago
How terrible. These people have no respect.
  • SJS · 1 year ago
Compassionately my ass. These bozos need to be sued for fraud.
  • Anthony · 1 year ago
I totally second that. If Eckhart Tolle found out that someone was copying and selling his work, do you not think he would take legal actions? OF COURSE HE WOULD!

There is no excuse for this...and especially the copyright on the pics...they are going DOWN.
  • rkdumra · 1 year ago
I can't believe they would do that! Good job whistle blowing!!!!
  • weirded out · 1 year ago
One of the guys pictured with his "wife" looks an awful lot like Phil...it's "Kyla" on pg 1

For what it's worth they are in violation of the terms of service with their domain name registrar:

    http://www.moniker.com/help/dtc.jsp
    Under section 28:
"You agree that the following is a non-exclusive list of actions that are not permitted:
    ...
the uploading, posting or other transmittal any content that infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights of any party;..."

I'm sending a message to the registrar as well as the company. Anyone want to send something to the Better Business Bureau so that they also have record of this company also?
  • Natasha · 1 year ago
Wow, just when you think you've seen it all... wow...
  • Tanisha Marshall · 1 year ago
They even have oprah on there, this is crazy.
  • Shaun · 1 year ago
I just called the FTC and asked them if a complaint should be filed, and was told it should. The FTC number is 1-877-382-4357, and the complaint only takes a couple of minutes. The person I spoke to asked that I get as many people as possible to call the FTC, so action can be taken.

    Thanks,
    Shaun

    Hey everyone :)
Thanks Dhru for posting this here. It's very nice to see the support for getting these pics removed. I was actually made aware of all this in late '07, by someone on MySpace - we looked into it back then, saw my pics and 4 other raw foodies too - Joel, Dixie, Cecilia and Britanie. I emailed the other 4 to let them know (though it seems maybe only Dixie got the message, as I never heard back from the others and Britanie emailed today - seems she hadn't got my message before...).
We got on the case back then, emailing and calling the company, speaking to lawyers, etc - we pursued it for a while - nothing shifted though and in the flow of travelling, this issue kind of got pushed aside...
Today my inbox was bursting with messages abt this ;) LOL - it's a great reminder to get back on the case, so, thanks everyone. We'll be in contact with them again.
As for the pics - yes, I love too that Joel ends up as 'Talia'...??? Britanie actually used to be on there 3 times, with 2 different names and I only see her once now, so, I guess that's a slight improvement ;)
If anyone has solid suggestions for other useful people to contact abt this (press, etc) , pls email me at angela@rawreform.com and we'll get some more action flowing ;)
    Thanks everyone,
    All love,
    Angela. xxx

OMG, that's just blatantly illegal!! You can't use someone's image to sell anything without their knowledge! You guys so have a credible lawsuit. I say sue their butts now and pray for them later! Unbelievable!!
  • Kevin · 1 year ago
i think they took them off the site... way to go guys!

    YAY :)

  • Carla Cameron · 1 year ago
Hi I think they have taken most of the photos off the site, except for Shayla. Shayla does exist, she posts at Raw Food Talk, but her name isn't Shayla.

These Crevax people are just lowlife garbage.

If you want to screw these people up report their use to Oprah. Because it is not a banner ad of Oprah's that is on their website, but they have stolen the graphic.

Now if I only I could disable their website. But anyway.......

    Carla (thinking dark thoughts)

Carla is right! I am still on that horrible site! Please do not stop calling and emailing to complain! I still need your help!

  • Linda Ellis-Thompson · 1 year ago
I'm on the first/home page and then on page 2 of successes http://crevax.com/success_2.html Being called Shayla. :(

I just wanted to thank the outpour of support from the raw community over this issue. I was one of the people they used on their website, If it wasn't for a nice women on a raw food's board and welikeitraw.com. I probably wouldn't have been made aware of the issue. I feel very proud to be part of the raw community and grateful that my picture is not supporting a product that I don't believe in. You all rock! Thank You.

    Love and Light,
    Cecilia

    Hey all
What strikes me as the funniest part is they used HIGH PROFILE Raw foodists!! Like we are so insulated in rawdom that we would never find out???
as for suing, if it is small claims do it, otherwise leave it up to the universe to met out justice, legal stuff is no fun and bad for your stress levels!
    love you
    deb

Thanks so much to everyone who helped to get our pictures off of this site! I couldn't believe it when I went there and saw that they were using my pictures two different times with two different names. I called and they told me there was "nothing they could do" so I am SO glad that everyone helped!!!!

    thank you so much
    xxo

I went on their website. Now they are calling this girl "Talia" ! LOL!!!
  • Eric Hanson Jr. · 1 year ago
I think all these photos are legal. The forums and websites agreed to sell them the photos for use.
  • Linda Ellis-Thompson · 1 year ago
If this is true, then I would have gotten a call back from the company with them stating this to me. I have not received one phone call or email. They removed the photos for a reason, don't you think?

Regardless, they were tricking consumers in thinking those were real before and after photos as a result of their diet pill.
  • Valine · 1 year ago
I cannot BELIEVE this!! How bad!!
  • suse · 1 year ago
Sorry if i am not serious enough, but this is SO hilarious and such a brilliant opportunity to get just how good RAW is out in the open. After all- the before and after pictures are obviously so impressive, that they are their number one choice. High tail is to Oprah- the subject of weight issues is close to her heart, plus she champions fairness. Is there anyone out there with a direct link? or..... anyone who is hot on PR can grab this story and make it big BIG BIG- and spread the good news.
  • rose · 1 year ago
    shouldn't they be sued?
they made money from you guys!
  • Suvine · 1 year ago
All my lawyer bosses and lawyer buddies say the same thing : YOU CAN SUE THEM

You can, and win. For sure. Piece of cake.
  • lynn · 1 year ago
i tried it and lost 20lbs in two months. t works but the advertisement mistakes are funny to me.
  • Dhrumil · 1 year ago
    1) They are not mistakes. They were straight up lies. In authentic advertising.

    2) Why do I have the feeling that work for them?

    3) If you really lost 20lbs taking that bs, maybe you should send them your photo. Lord knows they could us some real before and after testimonials.
